Electronic Transactions Act 1999
Australia's Electronic Transactions Act 1999 (Commonwealth) and corresponding state legislation provide that a transaction is not invalid merely because it was conducted electronically. The Act gives electronic signatures the same standing as traditional signatures when consent and reliability requirements are met.
